The Christmas and New Year celebrations might officially be over for another year as we sadly look at taking down the tree, but Nintendo is keeping the joy alive a little longer with the Nintendo eShop New Year Sale. What better way to cheer yourself up after vacuuming up pine needles than with up to 75% off some of the best-selling Nintendo Switch games? Go on, treat yourself, you deserve it.

And there are a slew of titles being discounted. Maybe you want to spend some quality time with Mickey Mouse in the incredible Disney Dreamlight Valley, or put your pedal to the colourful metal in the biggest Mario Kart yet, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Or perhaps you fancy joining Sonic and Tails in Sonic Mania, or exploring the lush and beautifully emotional world of Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Plus, plenty of Nintendo heavy hitters are on sale too. The exceptional Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is discounted, as are the tasty delights of Kirby’s Dream Buffet. Check out the Nintendo eShop for the full range of discounted games. Importantly, this is a limited time offer. These discounts will be available until January the 8th 2023 so make sure you head into the eShop before then to make the most of the New Year Sale.

But that’s not all that’s on offer. If you’re like us and always hungry for more Nintendo eShop Gold Points, you can currently earn twice as many Gold Points with every purchase from now until January 31st 2023. Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack members will receive double Gold Points - that’s 10% of the purchase price - on all purchases of games, DLC, and even game vouchers.

If you’ve just got a new Nintendo Switch for Christmas and don’t know about Nintendo eShop Gold Points, these are a digital currency that you earn with every purchase on the eShop. You can then use these points as a discount on future purchases so, simply, the more you earn, the lower the price will be on your next game purchase. Given how busy 2023 is going to be for Nintendo Switch games, this is a perfect time to collect as many Gold Points as possible. Happy shopping!
