Heavy Rain
Publisher: Atari
Developer: Quantic Dream
Release Date:TBA 2007 (maybe)
This gem of a trailer was playing in the Sony booth at E3 without sound (that, or it simply couldn't be heard above the din of the show), but it's the visuals that left our jaws on the floor. Quantic Dream, the creators of the sci-fi adventure thriller Indigo Prophecy, have a new project that we know little about, but the horsepower behind the game is the show-stopper so far.
Peep out this trailer and see if you can spot all of the subtle and not-so-subtle next-gen effects: depth-of-field focusing, heavy-duty facial-muscle modeling, wrinkles and real-time tears. The lip-synching could use a house call from Ashlee Simpson, but it's still an impressive demo of what's to come.
