M. Night Shyamalan has expressed interest in directing an episode of Stranger Things season 2. But before you cry out in shock and horror, know that this isn't just the ramblings of some random filmmaker wanting to hitch his career to something popular; Shyamalan and the Duffer brothers have history.
It was on the Shyamalan-produced show Wayward Pines that the Duffer brothers made their TV debut, so the three know each other and how they work. "My boys who do Stranger Things, they did Wayward Pines for me," he recently told Digital Spy. "They were 'round my house and I was like, 'Well, you can hire me back guys!'"
Personally, I'm not sure how I feel about this. When Shyamalan is on point, he is on. Point. The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable are classics. But then there's shlock like The Happening and The Last Airbender. Hopefully if the Duffer brothers take Shyamalan up on his offer, we get more of the former and not so much the latter.
Of course, Mr. Shyamalan - for better or worse - is known for the twists in his movies, so we've come up with a few suggestions. Which one would you pick?
Stranger Things season 2 is scheduled to appear on Netflix in 2017.
