Carrie-Anne Moss joins Marvels A.K.A. Jessica Jones

The second Marvel series slated to hit Netflix, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, has added another name to its ever-expanding cast. The comic book studio announced today that The Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss has now joined the anticipated TV series.

Headlined by Krysten Ritter in the titular role, the show will orbit around the former superhero’s adventures as she establishes her own detective agency in New York City.

According to Marvel, Moss will play “a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica...if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first.”

Such an enigmatic description doesn’t give away too much concerning the loyalties of Moss’s character. Will she be a friend, like Rachael Taylor in the role of Trish “Hellcat” Walker? Or is she aligned with an enemy element such as David Tennant’s villainous Richard Kilgrave?

In response to the news, Jeph Loeb, the show’s executive producer and Marvel’s Head of Television said:

“Carrie-Anne has proven her ability to play complex characters with deep and layered inner lives. Her interaction with Jessica Jones will be one of the many highlights of the series.”

A.K.A. Jessica Jones will air later this year on Netflix.
