The official line-up for Cannes 2014 has been revealed.
The biggest and most obvious showdown will be between two of the most esteemed British directors working today, as Ken Loach presents what's said to be his final feature film Jimmy's Hall - up against Mike Leigh, who'll be in attendance with biopic Mr. Turner about painter JMW Turner starring Timothy Spall.
Both will compete for the Palme d'Or, with a line-up consisting of a total of 18 films.
Other big names in the competition include David Cronenberg (with the Robert Pattinson-starring Map to the Stars ), Jean-Luc Godard (who'll present Goodbye to Language ), Tommy Lee Jones' second directorial effort The Homesman (a Western starring Hilary Swank), Olivier Assayas' Sils Maria (starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Juliette Binoche), the Bennett Miller-directed Foxcatcher (which stars Steve Carell in his darkest role yet), and the already announced Nicole Kidman-starring biopic Grace of Monaco .
In the Un Certain Regard category, the most notable inclusion is Ryan Gosling's directorial debut Lost River (previously titled How To Catch A Monster ).
And finally, out of competition, Dean DeBlois' How to Train Your Dragon 2 will celebrate Dreamworks Studio's 20th anniversary, while many will be excited by David ' Animal Kingdom ' Michod's sci-fi Western The Rover which also stars Robert Pattinson.
The 67th Cannes festival will run from 14 - 25 May 2014 - and the lovely official poster can be seen below.
