Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
The Model: Kristen Bell, playing the somewhat thankless role of “heartless bitch”. Oh well, at least she gets to look pretty!
The Swimsuit: A tiny, pink bikini that looks almost flesh-coloured in a certain light. It’s certainly enough to make you look twice, anyway.
The Dukes Of Hazzard (2005)
The Model: Jessica Simpson, who damn near gave Willie Nelson a heart-attack during the filming of the music video for official song These Boots Were Made For Walking .
The Swimsuit: A luminous pink bikini. The perfect garment to make you stand out amid a slew of mediocrity...
High Society (1956)
The Model: Grace Kelly, proving that sexy swimwear isn’t only restricted to the “bare-all” variety.
The Swimsuit: A demure halter-neck swimsuit with an integrated skirt. Classy stuff, as you’d expect from a woman of Grace’s calibre.
Muriel's Wedding (1994)
The Model: Aussie newcomer Daniel Lapaine, who makes quite an entrance when he emerges sopping-wet from a quick dip in the pool.
The Swimsuit: A pair of good old-fashioned Speedos. If it ain’t broke…
Splash (1984)
The Model: Daryl Hannah, starring here as a giant fish who casts her line and hooks Tom Hanks. Hooray!
The Swimsuit: It's not so much a swimsuit as it is her skin, but we must give her credit for styling her hair into a functioning bikini top. Nice work Daryl.
The Deep (1977)
The Model: Jacqueline Bisset, who cleverly preserved her modesty by donning a t-shirt instead of a traditional swimsuit. Until it got wet.
The Swimsuit: A plain white t-shirt, just the thing for a day’s boating. Until it gets wet.
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
The Models: Demi Moore and Cameron Diaz, seemingly sporting the same beach-ready body despite the decade separating them.
The Swimsuits: Ultra-skimpy bikinis, in character coordinating colours. Demi is the baddie, so she wears black, whereas goody two-shoes Cameron is decked out in white.

The Blue Lagoon (1980)
The Model: Castaway lovers Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins. Aww, don’t they look cute.
The Swimsuit: Loincloth chic is all well and good if you’re stranded in the back of beyond, but best not to try it at your local pool. You’ll be asked to leave.
Wild Things 2 (2004)
The Model: It’s the lovely Susan Ward of Sunset Beach fame! What do you mean you never watched it? Idiots!
The Swimsuit: A sexy, sports-bra affair, almost exactly the same colour as the suit worn by Denise Richards in the original. Nice continuity there…
Wild Things (1998)
The Model: Denise Richards, in the role that made her a household name. In households that watch erotic dramas together, obviously.
The Swimsuit: A light blue bikini, made famous by Neve Campbell ripping it from the body of Denise Richards.
