"I don't think Silent Hill is a game that would be sold on Nintendo Wii," says chief director of Silent Hill 5, Masashi Tsuboyama, since "the general opinion is that Wii is for family games." The long-awaited next-gen debut of Silent Hill 5 is rumored to launch this year for both PS3 and Xbox 360. According to the rumor section of the latest issue EGM, Konami is prepping Silent Hill 5 for a release this year and it looks like the game will be released on both PS3 and 360. Silent Hill 5 will spell a return to Silent Hill 2's direction and character behavior, according to series composer and SH4 producer Akira Yamaoka. Apparently, SH5 will be closer to SH2 "in the terms of the way the player is directed and the character's behavior." The camera style will also revert back to the traditional setup, instead of sharing the over-the-shoulder view from upcoming PSP adventure Silent Hill: Origins.
