Arch villain Jigsaw’s had a change of heart and is dishing out presents because… no, not really. It’s bloody miserable. It’s also hugely dark, crudely animated, has ropey combat, and the scenarios – despite getting more and more gruesome as the game goes on – start to drag after a few hours. Not much to like then? ...

The game will contain the same atrocities as we know it in the original films but will not totally the same. The game will draw attention to the traps of Jigsaw to resolve through puzzles. You will control a character in an asylum should solve riddles to Jigsaw's victims to rescue. Saw is a Konami graphic and intense game that you need to overcome. They want players must turn their heads away from the screen because the images are to intense.

The game of Saw will be released in the autumn of 2009. To see the screenshots, hit the link below.

Variety: Pyramid Head, say hello to your new brother Jigsaw.

Konami has confirmed an earlier Cut Scene report that it bought the rights to bankrupt publisher Brash's in-production video game based on "Saw." It will be released this fall on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 to coincide with Lionsgate's "Saw VI." (As you've probably noticed, Konami provided us with the first ever screenshots from the game as well).

Though there's obviously no sequel plans yet, the Japanese publisher is undoubtedly hoping "Saw" will become its second survival horror franchise, alongside "Silent Hill."

"Saw," one of the highest profile games left orphaned when Brash Entertainment went out of business, has been picked up by Konami.

Sources close to the project have confirmed that Konami has made a deal with Lionsgate, to whom the rights reverted when Brash breached its contract, and developer Zombie Studios. The game will come out this fall along with the sixth "Saw" film (I almost wrote "Saw VI," but that series is getting so long in the tooth I'm wondering if they'll take a cue from the seventh "Star Trek" movie and just drop the numbers).

Konami is an obvious choice to pick up "Saw," since it has experience selling horror with a little franchise called "Silent Hill." But the game almost took a very intriguing twist: no publisher at all.

Saw: The Videogame, the adaptation of the long-running horror film series, is reportedly the latest victim of the financial difficulties besetting Brash Entertainment, with the title now looking for a publisher.

Scheduled for the latter half of 2009 - coinciding with the release of the sixth film - Saw: The Videogame was to be an Unreal 3 powered take on the sadistic series. However, the game's developer and publisher Brash Entertainment has recently laid off several staff members and is in the process of jettisoning projects – and the Saw adaptation looks to be one of them.

Horror site Bloody Disgusting – picked up by Destructoid – is reporting that the game is out to tender, and although work on Saw: The Videogame is nearly complete it is now looking for a new publisher.

We've reached out to Brash for confirmation of the game's status, and will keep you updated when we hear anything back.

In an interview with horror Web site Bloody-Disgusting, the film's producer Oren Koules spills his guts on the games, which he says

"the game company are not letting [them] talk too much about."

According to Koules, the game takes place in the time frame of the first film, is being written by original screenwriters Leigh Whannell and James Wan, and will feature the voices of all of the original actors.

Bloody-Disgusting writes:

"[Producer Mark] Berg also explained to us that the game will be a walk-through where you pick up weapons along the way."

Just what in the hell that really means, I have no idea; but "walking" and "weapons" are confirmed, which sounds like a good idea for a videogame.

The original Saw was released in 2004, and sequels have been pushed out like bean burritos at Taco Bell every year since. Saw V hits theaters this October, and stars Julie Benz and Tobin Bell. The Brash Entertainment videogame is set for an October 2009 release, surely to coincide with the release of Saw VI.
Brash's co-founder Mitch Davis let slip that the game (reportedly headed for PS3 and Xbox 360) is being developed by Zombie, the studio behind America's Army.
With a little help from Jigsaw himself, Brash Entertainment has just announced that the murderous intent of the Saw films will soon be unleashed upon helpless consoles. Currently slated for an October 2009 release, we can only assume it'll arrive just in time for that beloved holiday on the 31st, Nevada Day.

Scheduled for a release in October of 2009, the game will weave in and out of the Saw movie plotlines and will be an intricate collaboration between the development studio and the filmmakers. While this is really all the information IGN have on the title at the moment, they note that the game will be running on the Unreal III engine and will likely be released on PS3 and 360.
