Well consider IGN disappointed. Following a glimpse at some of the most intense action they have ever seen during Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden 2 live gameplay demonstration at Microsoft's pre Tokyo Game Show press conference a couple of days back, IGN have just learned that the game won't be playable at the show.

Although Ninja Gaiden 2 will miss out, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword for the DS will have a playable build.

The true sequel to Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden reinvention on Xbox will also be an Xbox 360 exclusive, Team Ninja's iconic game designer Tomonobu Itagaki said today in Tokyo. Itagaki took the stage at Microsoft's pre-Tokyo Game Show press briefing to make the announcement, confirming the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 on Microsoft's platform in 2008.

Mistwalker's Hironobu Sakaguchi of Final Fantasy fame and fan-fiction also took the stage at the engagement, giving Lost Odyssey a date of December 6 for Japan, but revealing other territories won't see the game until 2008--a delay from the originally stated winter 2007 release.

"Itagaki also says that they weren't able to include all features in the original Xbox prequel. Now they are able to implement all those features. Itagaki has brought the latest build of the game! "Please enjoy the world's best action game, running on the world's best hardware," says Itagaki."

"Game play is bloody and like the screen shoots released yesterday. Slicing dudes IN HALF and decapitating enemies. Ryu is now in a market place. The environments look fully destructible. When you slice people in half you can see their innards. Granted, their innards are all red, but I wonder what kind of rating this will get."

Just this morning the Japanese Xbox website featured the very first images of what appears to be Ninja Gaiden 2, the real sequel to the original Xbox game. Though the screenshot are very small and don't show much, at midnight we can perhaps watch the first trailer from Ninja Gaiden 2.

Why? On the US Xbox website a Countdown just appeared, which at the time of writing runs out in 6 hours. Altough there is not much to see, there is a Chinese/Japanese theme on the background, which could mean a trailer for Ninja Gaiden 2, or maybe just the official announcement. It has been confirmed by Gamespot Korea that, Ninja Gaiden 2, the sequel to one of the most acclaimed titles on the original Xbox, will be publicly shown to the world for the first time at this years Tokyo Game Show.

This was confirmed by an insider in the Japanese gaming industry. According to the insider, the PS3 version of the game has not been confirmed at the moment, but the game will in fact be shown for the Xbox 360 system.
