As part of an in-depth new Gamasutra interview, High Moon VP Paul O'Connor (The Bourne Conspiracy) has been discussing Unreal Engine on PlayStation 3 and Gears Of War's impressive behind-the-scenes structure.

Vivendi-owned High Moon, which previously worked on Darkwatch, are currently preparing the Unreal Engine 3-utilizing action title The Bourne Conspiracy for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

So, when asked: "Do you have anything to say about the development process on doing multiplatform games?", O'Connor explained of the development process:

"We needed a lot of support on Unreal to make it run on the PlayStation 3. We got caught in the same crunch as everybody else when [Epic] finalized Gears [Of War], so that definitely slowed down the PS3 support at the time.

But, that being said, the guys have done extraordinary work with the PS3, and it's just about ready to pipeline."

MICROSOFT is planning a huge marketing push in promotion of November's release Gears of War 2.

And the platform holder has told MCV that on top of the big-name shooter, it has lined up 'something for everyone' on Xbox 360 this year.

Gears of War 2 was unveiled during Microsoft's keynote address at last month's GDC, and the publisher feels that it could become one of the biggest games of the year.

XBox 360 Fanboy writes; While making the daily internet rounds XBox 360 Fanboy stumbled across an intriguing little survey that's posted over on GearsofWar.com asking fans' opinions on a few Gears related questions.

The survey (which can only be accessed using a Windows LIVE ID) is ever so interestingly titled "GOW 2 Survey" and asks various questions about a player's likes, dislikes and favorites regarding the Gears franchise. Questions including "What's the best OMG moment from Gears 1?", "Which multiplayer mode dominates your time online?" and "Which Delta Squad member would you want to have your back?"

It's quite obvious to us that Microsoft and Epic want your opinion on what makes Gears so special and will probably use the data gathered to make Gears of War 2 more of teh hawtness. Data that will hopefully tell them we want more Torque Bow, more Boomers (their "BOOM!" chant is hilarious) and more Seriously-style achievements.

Several months ago FiringSquad reported that comic book publisher Boom Studios announced plans to release a monthly comic book based on Epic Games's Xbox 360 action game Gears of War. Boom Comics solicited a #0 issue of the comic in Previews magazine for release back in October 2007 but that comic never got released.

At WonderCon on Friday FiringSquad asked reps for Boom Comics what happened and FiringSquad got confirmation from them that their plans for an official Gears of War comic have now been cancelled. The company reps were vague on what exactly happened, saying, "We will let Epic do what they do best and we will do what we do best."
