It goes without saying that videogame-to-movie adaptations rarely ever deliver what gamers want. But considering Epic's Gears of War already plays out like an interactive, wild f**king action movie, Destructoid is cautiously optimistic about seeing the game on screen.

Microsoft Game Studios today announced "13 Days of Gears," a special promotion that kicks off Feb. 1 in the U.S. where players can win fantastic prize packages every day for 13 straight days. Dozens of winners will be selected at random over the 13 day period to win "Gears of War" themed prize packages collectively worth over $25,000.

A new Gears of War 2 patch is expected to be released by the end of the month and new Achievements to come with it.
Console Monster writes: "We have just added the Achievements for Gears of War 2 on the Xbox 360. The achievements were promised and Epic Games didn't let us down. The achievements require players to play in all the game modes on both the Combustible Map Pack (800 Microsoft Points) and the Flashback Map Pack (which came free with new copies of Gears of War 2 or can be purchased from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 400 Microsoft Points).
GameDaily BIZ has learned that Gears of War 2 has passed the 4 million sales plateau in two months, doubling the pace of its predecessor.
Gameplayer are reporting that the Xbox 360 sales war between heavyweight blockbusters shooters Call of Duty: World at War and Gears of War 2 has a new leader.

Not only is golf's greatest a devoted fan of the shmup, but he also pwns. Not only that, but those ads where Woods unwinds at home with a round of Tiger Woods Golf for the Wii are misleading. It's more likely that he's teabagging some newbie in Halo or slicing someone with the chainsaw in Gears of War.

Since the release of Gears of War 2 the online play has been plagued with issues. The issues consist of bad matchmaking to many, many online exploits. Well I guess Cliffy B. has been putting his boot up some programmers asses over there at Epic in order to get the problems solved.
Mark Rein of Epic writes: "As I mentioned before the break we've been working on a major title update for Gears of War 2. This update will address bugs and exploits as well as add some new achievements related to downloadable content. We don't have an exact date for it but all indicators are it will go live within January. If that changes we'll let you know.
