The Eurogamer Expo and gamesindustry.biz games fair has started selling tickets this week. You can buy a ticket for £5, which is donated to GamesAid, and gives you access to both events.

Games such as Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, LittleBigPlanet, Mirrors Edge, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, Prince of Persia, Resistance 2, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Street Fighter IV and many more (with some still unannounced!) will all be playable.

The expo is part of the London Games Festival 2008 and will run from the 28th-29th October.

As if standard and collector's editions weren't enough, UK gamers will also be able to get their hands on a limited edition of the post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout 3 when it goes on sale next month.

Bethesda has decided that the Australian Edition of Fallout 3, the now infamous edited version of Fallout 3 that was created to cater for the Australian Classifications Boards willingness to ignore the fact that discerning adults play video games, will now be shipping world wide, replacing all other versions.

Speaking to Edge, Bethesda has explained what it calls a "misconception" regarding the classification of Fallout 3 in the Australian region. Edge has also learned that due to concerns and issues raised in the process of international classification, Fallout 3 will not contain real world drug references in any territory.

Fallout 3 was originally refused classification by the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification, citing among other reason the in-game use of "Morphine" in order to ignore limb pain. According to the Office's guidelines, "material promoting or encouraging proscribed drug use" is refused classification.

In mid-August, the OFLC announced that a revised version of the game had been granted a rating in Australia, thanks to edits that changed the context of the in-game drug use.

For those of you worried about playing catch up in the Fallout series before taking on Bethesda's latest entry in the franchise, don't fret. Pete Hines has assured PSU that new players should have no problem picking up Fallout 3 and jumping right in.

"Well, we make sure you don't have to have played the previous Fallout games to understand what's going on in Fallout 3," said Hines.

"Obviously the control scheme should be familiar with folks who have played a 1st or 3rd person game. That was one of the nice things I heard at PAX from a number of folks is that they felt like the basic controls were pretty intuitive and seemed to pick up on things like how to use the Pip-Boy or the V.A.T.S. combat system pretty quickly."

Speaking in an interview with VideoGamer.com, Bethesda Softworks vice president Pete Hines revealed that the developer instead prefers to rely on internal feedback.

Hines told VideoGamer.com that "you have to take feedback from the people who are actually playing the game".

When asked how much the series' protective fan base figured in the development of the game, he replied: "Not much. When you're designing a game, you have this group of people on the inside who are working on it every day and who know everything about the decisions that are being made. You don't just take a chunk of that, throw it out to the community and say, "We don't know how this question works, so let's ask the fans". You're working and changing every day - it's a constant, fluid process. It's not like we say, "Okay, everything is done now, let's see what they say then go back and change it."

Pete Hines, product manager for Fallout 3 has said developing a game to suit the varying censorship needs of different countries is "frustrating".

Hines refused to talk specifically about the issues Fallout 3 faced with Australian censorship last month. But, on the topic of censorship in general, he told CVG: "The frustrating thing for us is that the standards and rules can be so varied across territories, that we work with five or six ratings agencies and each one has different 'hot buttons'."

He went on to explain: "In one place nudity is a big deal but violence is fine, and in another place drugs are a problem but nudity is fine.
