A new image has emerged online from Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion , featuring a space-suit-wearing Tom Cruise getting his sprint on.
The film is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth which has evolved beyond all recognition, with Cruise playing one of the last few humans stationed on the planet.
He’s charged with helping to mine the last remaining natural resources from humanity’s old home, but his world is turned upside down with the sudden crash-landing of a beautiful stranger from a stricken spacecraft.
The new image doesn’t tell us much more, save for the fact that Cruise’s character will find himself in a fair bit of peril throughout the movie. Comes with the territory for an action hero, doesn’t it?
Co-starring Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Melissa Leo and Olga Kurylenko, Oblivion will open in the UK on 12 April 2013.
