got this on order for release day, i never played it on ps3 as i came from the xbox 360 and this was the game i really wanted to try but couldnt, but is it really the best looking game to be released on a console as of now? i mean really? killzone shadow fall and infamous really would take some beating by a cross gen title.

I doubt it. Looking at screenshots, comparisons, in game footage, it looks mildly better than the PS3 version. In some ways the graphics on the PS3 version are better too, as it looks less...washed out (mostly powdered with sunsets just for the sake of showing shadows). Of course, seeing it on a computer screen isn't seeing it in action. But this seems like more TLoU pandering than full-on truth. Second Son is goddamned beautiful, and I won't easily be convinced that a port that apparently pretty frequently drops 15 frames on max settings is more beautiful than a game which the PS4 was designed around. Knowing GR's penchant for exaggeration doesn't help that sentiment either lol.

Option to lock the fps at 30 and get soft shadows? This is the main reason for getting a console usually, not dealing with graphics options, i bet this is something we start seeing more with the new consoles, kind of crazy though I haven't seen graphics options in any other console game.

I have noticed a few Vsync options in some console games, the names escape me but I remember it quite clearly because I thought it was strange also.

I havent seen these options but ill take your word for it, yeh its strange for sure. I guess Vsync options makes sense, apart from the tearing it wont make a difference to the graphics and it would bump up the fps for those that are extra picky.

Just traded in my PS3 copy at Gamestop for a 50% towards the PS4 version, now $25. Sweet deal since I never did purchase any of the DLC, that alone would have been $20. Now I get them free.

I was thinking of giving this a miss... damn you games radar you are trying to kill my wallet aren't you?
