I've been hoping for this announcement for ages but I wish they had delayed it now the end of 2013 is so far away and IGN said it's been in development for 8 months so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't until well into 2014 till we see this.
Rome is still my favourite Total War and I hope they keep the unit variety they had where each faction was largely made up of unique units, I didn't like the sameness between factions that Empire and Shogun had.

Nice I was hoping that CA would make this type of expansion, the rise of Meiji japan one of my favorite point in their history.
I's sure it will be more accurate then 'Last Samurai'. It would be cool to play through the Boshin War or even play as the Ezo Republic.
