Well someone definitely has to buy it, but it all probably depends big time on next 2 things: 1 - How finished the project is? I don't think anyone would want to take something with barely graphics design and few locations finished, game needs to be playable and it should impress. 2 - Would they be willing to hire most important original developers to actually finish the game like it was supposed to? If they would hire same devs then it could probably even be really good for the game overall, since ppl tend to work better at new jobs. You know, to make a better impression. Either way, I'm pretty much in love with Copernicus overall looks and design and would be very glad to see that this game is going to live on. As an mmo, preferably, I don't want another Kingdoms of Amalur that I could never get into.

I feel like EA wouldn't want to publish Copernicus. Currently, EA strikes me as the type of publisher that would only consider backing an MMORPG based on a very well-known IP, or an MMORPG offering an original, fresh setting. The same goes for Ubisoft, who would probably rather get their feet wet in the MMO market with an established IP. As for Square Enix, I can't really argue against them possibly publishing the game...I just feel that it wouldn't be the 'style' of MMO that they'd publish. The same goes for Namco Bandai. And I think Trion Worlds definitely has more confidence in the longevity of their MMO than Lucas does. Because of that, don't think they'll want to publish a traditional fantasy MMORPG for many more years to come. Of all the publishers Lucas made a case for, I can envision SOE or Perfect World picking up Copernicus--more so SOE; which would be kinda fitting since Curt Schilling adored the original Everquest. The graphical style of Copernicus is too cartoony for my taste, but I could see myself getting over that fact if the gameplay was great. Afterall, vanilla WoW had me hooked for years.

cartoony? and that is a bad thing? last time i checked the most notable and best selling MMORPG is frickin cartoony - world of warcraft! I remember all the hype behind reckoning in how it was considered a great game and the fact that the two companies had to ask the state of rhode island for a loan just to kick it off says they had dedication. Any other company should see this as a gold mine if put to good use with the right original features and addicting gameplay.

Could be a nice change to something like wow if they keep with a good combat system. But after getting 49 hours int KoA and then getting a game stopping and well known bug that the devs will not patch because they don't want to spend the money, I will not be buying anything else off them no matter how good.
