Whats with all the butthurt on here about pricing? Its a new console, even the "deluxe" model with a game comes in under £330. When ps3 launched it was over £500. People need to stop looking at specs and trying to compare Wii-U to any existing console, its a new console and its a pretty reasonable price all things considered.

As a fellow Irish consumer I am outraged to hear that gamestop is charging that much for the deluxe model. I put a 200E pre order down a few months ago thinking that I would have the majority of the price paid off. Now there is no way I will be buying the deluxe model. I will have to settle for the white and use an external HDD to boost the storage.
Still cannot wait to play the crap out of Rayman and AC 3. I will pick up ZombiU if reviews are decent. Looks like a good Arcade Experience. Pick up for 20 mins, see how far you can get.

I'm completely against pre-ordering and the concept of doing so, but on the flip-side, I'm also an incredibly greedy bastard so the two balance out.
Still, I remain very skeptical of the Wii U, but it would certainly be cool to own one right out of the gate.

Always had a problem with Gamestop..they screwed over my pre-order, and they said that the game wasn't out until the next day despite the internet telling everyone it was out already. Not to mention the way they treat New games. By taking out the wrap, and the game and then putting in a sticker that upon removal, can screw up the box. Terrible.
Its cheaper to buy Used Games on Ebay(example: $18 for Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow in Gamestop no box/manual. $5 or less with Like New condition Box/Manual on Ebay).
Other than that its also cheaper to buy New games on Amazon, or Steam which some of the games are literally rock bottom prices (Oblivion with all DLCs/everything was just $6.25 a couple days ago on Steam. $20 on Gamestop).
Buying consoles imo has been better in Department Stores cuz if anything legal needs to be done, its easier to go after them rather than a small time game store (compared to Wal Mart anyway).
In every department, Gamestop loses. Its always better to shop elsewhere. The only reason i would even go is just to browse whats hot or hang with my friends. I would never buy anything there anymore after the terrible service which includes lying to me, and high prices for what they offer.

zomg gamestop got me my copy of GoW3 early, must do business with them from now on!!
Obviously this bit of kiss-assery is an intended revenue ploy aimed at the fanatics of GoW, and I won't be surprised when it happens again with Skyrim and MW3. As much as I'm tired of gamestop thinking they can act above the industry (the Deus Ex incident comes to mind), all I can do as one person is do my business with respectable retailers.
