SyFy Revives Randall And Hopkirk

US remake of the Brit show about the cop with the ghost buddy

SyFy has ordered a pilot from ITV Studios, which will be written and executive produced by Josh ( Scrubs ) Bycel and Jonathan ( American Dad ) Fener. “Josh and Jonathan have found a great way to update the buddy-cop formula with a supernatural twist,” said Mark Stern, executive vice president of original programming for Syfy.

The original British detective series ran for 26 episodes from 1969-1970, and starred Kenneth Cope and Mike Pratt. The BBC produced a two-series remake in 2000-2002, starring comedy duo Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer as the live and dead cops, and Tom Baker as god (or something…).
