When the South Park game was first announced it seemed too good to actually exist. A full retail RPG based on South Park, developed by Obsidian (Fallout: New Vegas), and written by show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone? As hard as it is to believe, it’s true, and we have a new collection of screens and art to prove it.
Highlights from the screens are battles with vampire kids, gingers and dirty hippies, as the unnamed player character pals around with Lord of the Rings-style versions of classic South Park characters. In these screens it appears Obsidian really captured the look of the show (with Kyle no doubt embodying the "Jew" class of heroes), which probably isn’t hard compared to the higher tech graphics of its previous games. The game’s planned for a 2012 release on PS3, 360 and PC, and we hope to see some video soon, because it won’t really feel like South Park until we hear the kids talk. Still, why isn’t the game coming out on the Wii? Obviously Cartman’s a fan:
