Modern Warfare 3 officially confirmed with trailer (UPDATED with three more trailers)

What a day, huh? We began with the giant leak of very credible rumorssurrounding the unannounced third game in the Modern Warfare series. Representatives for Call of Duty’s publisher Activision were quiet for most of the day, but it looks like they decided that if it was front page news anyway, they may as well announce Modern Warfare 3 now instead of waiting any longer. So here’s the official reveal trailer:

This trailer at least confirms the reports of the game’s story taking place in America, New York City to be exact. Whether the rest of it turns out to be true, including a planned November 8 release date, remains to be seen. But at least we can start our weekend safe in the knowledge that a sequel really is being made to one of the best-selling games of all time. Guess we better start the line at Gamestoptonight.

UPDATE: Activision kept the hits coming with two more trailers featuring a couple additional battlegrounds, Germany, England, and France.
