David Hayter not providing the voice for Big Boss is no great loss. The voice is supposed to be for Solid Snake. Naked Snake should have never even adopted it and BB is voiced by Richard Doyle in MGS 4. Also, how does it make sense that he has a prosthetic arm at that point and not have one later? That's just weird.

Well, in his Narrative-Wise, final appearence in MGS4 his body was actually reconstructed from bits of Liquid and Solidus.

What about before that? There was no mention of any prosthetic arm in Metal Gear 1 or 2. They're probably going to rewrite the canon.

Actually, Big Boss DOES have prosthetic limbs after his "death" in Metal Gear all honesty, in the grand scheme of things, his arm isn't that big of deal anyway.
  • gilgamesh310 - June 6, 2013 11:16 a.m.

This is set before that though. I know his arm isn't that big of a deal but so many things have changed in the timeline since MGS 3. Different things seem to be constantly rewritten. It's the worst things about prequels.

As a PS fanboy... Sony sign this beast up as an exclusive. I would give up GTA V for this anyday. Metal Gears Universe is better even Mass Effects and every game is near perfect. To say Im excited is the biggest understatment ever.

AWESOME Nice to see Mikel at least appear in the video

I doubt a AAA PS360 game would come out any later than next year
  • Rhymenocerous - March 28, 2013 8:37 a.m.

Well, they got David Bateson back for Hitman 5, so maybe Hayter will be brought back for MGS5?

anyone else notice that Big Boss has Galvez' hand from Peacewalker? [img][/img]

I really wish game companies didn't have to tease us like this. Why can't we get trailers within months of the release, not some unknown amount of years? I have to piss my pants in excitement every time I think about this for some ludicrous amount of time now. Thanks, Kojima. If you didn't already make the best game ever to exist, I'd hate your guts.

it may not be David Hayter, but the guy with the face bandage is defo Kiefer Sutherland... and the fact that Jack Bauer is in a MGS game...awesome !
  • TheMariner - March 27, 2013 7:57 p.m.

If it's true that David Hayter is no longer voicing Snake, then the two gods of stealth gaming are dead to me since Michael Ironside is no longer voicing Sam Fisher either.

This whole yank about is why I love Kojima. BTW GR, slide 2 says Sons of the Patriots, it should be Guns of the Patriots. K thx.

ok i think i got it this is going to be the link between peace walker and either metal gear or metal gear solid. we are going to see big boss go evil and the beginnings of solid snake. i would like this game to include the events of metal gear so the story can be seen in a modern gaming sense. i also think evidence that volgin will be involved somehow. my guess is that ground zeroes will be one half of the game, essentially Big Boss last mission. and the phantom pain will be the birth of evil Big Boss after he is in acoma for 9 years and the main gameplay will be as either solid snake or potentially a new character of some sort ( because we would lose a little time waiting for solid snake to grow up). now my mgs story is a little rusty i am unable to play mgs1 and mgs4 and i have never played through or understood mg and mg2

Good coverage. I have really liked the Metal Gear Series and I'm glad they're continuing to make more. Also, while I haven't loved all of the weird stuff that comes out of Japan, I do enjoy a franchise that is not afraid to be as bizzare as Metal Gear Solid.
