That was extremely fun to watch

Just got round to seeing the TGS gameplay and I'm very impressed. One of my issues with GZ was the lack of goofy MGS humour but it looks like it's all there in PP. For some reason I thought Quiet would be a villain and I was hoping for another epic sniper battle. Hopefully she is optional as support as I like MGS when it's just Snake v the world. Seems a bit odd that her animation involves huge plumes of dust, rather flashy for a stealth game. Also hope the balloon stuff is optional. I realise it's for building the base but there's a bit of an art to hiding unconscious enemies in MGS and I worry that the balloon will make things too easy.

Where did you get the Venom Snake nickname? In the E3 2013 trailer Big Boss is renamed Punish Snake, but I think I like your rumor better.

Hideo Kojima, said that snake will also be called Venom Snake along with Punished Snake...

God dammit. Damn Raiden DLC being XBone only. Hopefully it's just a timed exclusive...

Dammit. I've been a Sony stalwart for so long, but COME ON. Playing as Cyborg Ninja will always be better than playing as 32-bit anything.

Glad both consoles are getting some form of DLC, none of this we are letting one console get this super mega awesome DLC while the other one dosnt *points to batman AA joker*

Great article gamesradar. Very imformative. I had many questions about this new game and many have been answered. From a huge Metal Gear Fan. This is my most highly regarded title without a doubt.

My predictions: -Phantom Pain will see Big Boss through Metal Gear's original story, leading to... -Hayter's return as Solid Snake, because... -The final fight will be the same fight from Metal Gear, only from Big Boss's PoV

Holy crap that would be amazing.

Dude, I know, right? It seems like a lot to hope for, but I wouldn't put it past Kojima for a second. It's totally plausible and would be the most amazing thing ever if it actually happened.

They are certainly running out of timeline...Big Boss has to die inevitably.

He doesnt die till the end of mgs 4 guns of the Patriots along with the infamous zero who stole the pilosifers legacy at the end of snake eater. So in theory since solid snake was about 30 before the aging effects of foxdie began to destroy his body there could actually be room for one last go around as the legendary big boss. :-) so keep your hopes up this is one series i want to see never end

Does it mean anything that Sutherland voiced Ishmael in what little they showed in at the GDC conference? I'm sad to see Hayter go but Kojima and friends are the one studio I trust absolutely because for better or worse they're what make MGS different from every other series.
  • CitizenWolfie - June 7, 2013 8:55 a.m.

I'm kinda disappointed that David Hayter isn't returning. I mean, he IS Snake/Big Boss. But Sutherland will be a good choice I think. He was the best thing about Phone Booth and he was pretty much just a voice in that.

I bet David Hayter killed Kaz...I mean Kiefer with Nerve Gas, and stole his shades so that he can impersonate him.
