Engineering Geek: Assuming that the rpm of the wheels stays the same, then bigger wheels mean more distance is covered each time the wheels revolve, hence the higher top speed :P
  • Fraught - November 29, 2011 10:48 p.m.

WOW YOU MUST SURE BE A HUGE GEEK TO KNOW SOMETHING LIKE THAT. Doesn't the mass of the wheels in some way hinder it having the same RPM?
  • Tispower - November 30, 2011 7:29 a.m.

Yeah, but this is Mario Kart, they only considered half the physics ;)
  • jamal-france - November 29, 2011 3:12 p.m. wish i had the 3ds mario kart is my game

I have such a love for the Mario Kart series I've never cared if they don't change much. Every single one (except DS... so far) I've played for countless hours. I'm so excited I read the review twice... Now I just have to wait until Christmas.

I can't believe this game got a ten. It was the last thing I was expecting in all honesty. Now I kind of want it.
  • needles - November 29, 2011 3:56 p.m.

Jesus Christ. The game looks WORSE than when it was on the original Nintendo. How does 15 years pass by and the technology remain the same? Usually game systems get BETTER.

I'm quite surprised how uninformed your information is, considering Super Mario Kart released 19 years ago on the Super Nintendo. If you're gonna troll, at least take the time to do a quick Wiki search or something.

    Knowledge is power

19 YEARS AGO!!! Sweet Mary Mother of God! How is Nintendo still in business? Oh, I forgot. It's because of young children and casual gamers.
  • SveedishFeesh - November 29, 2011 4:19 p.m.

Mario Kart games are usually day one purchases for me, but A 10?! Wow. Good thing 'm picking it up this holiday season. And don't give Needles the attention. He's just a fail troll.

No more snaking, at long last! Insta-buy.

My 3DS has been lost for a month :(
  • Thequestion 121 - November 29, 2011 8:48 p.m.

Awesome! Another reason why the 3DS is worthy of owning :)
  • kingsmikefan - November 29, 2011 9:50 p.m.

Wow this review along with the wonderful looking Ocarina of Time bundle has me really wanting to take the plunge for a 3DS. But that "Circle Pad" announcement gives me this uneasy feeling that a re-design with a second analog stick will be revealed right as the money is removed from my account. Sigh, I'm not sure what to do yet...
  • shawksta - November 30, 2011 9:07 a.m.

Its been confirmed that they arnt working on any "Revision" as of now or anytime soon, the circle pad and L R Bumpers addon is its own for now.

I never thought I'd see the day Towell drooled this much over a Nintendo title. Man, I wish it was Sunday already. After a lackluster start the 3DS game library has been picking up serious steam. First the excellent Ocarina of Time remake, then the ridiculously addictive SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked (which is an enhanced port), then the superb Super Mario 3D Land, and now this little slice of kart racing heaven. Then in 2012 we get Resident Evil Revelations, Luigi's Mansion 2, Paper Mario, Heroes of Ruin, Kid Icarus Uprising, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Tales of the Abyss (NA, Europe already got it), and Prof. Layton. It's a good time to be a 3DS owner.
