The world of The Last of Us seems pretty different from Naughty Dog's previous adventurous creations, as gorgeous vistas and globe-trotting has been replaced by a society ruined by a world-ending plague. Survivors are few and far between and there seems to be little reason to hold out hope, what with the flesh-eating monsters out to devour you at every turn. But as this new trailer proves, you should be just as concerned about running into uninfected humans.
In a scene that reminds us of the amazing sci-fi film Children of Men, we're used to helping people in need when we find them in games, but in Last of Us that's proven fairly naive as the grizzled Joel quickly teaches young Ellie. We're curious how the rest of this scene plays out and just when the gameplay starts. Actually, we're fairly curious how the actual game plays in general, as Sony has yet to show any of that publically. We're betting Sony's June 4 E3 press conference will finally give us a glimpse of what players will experience in the PS3-exclusive.
