Get into Dragonica Online closed beta

UPDATE 07/13/2009: This contest is closed and we are no longer accepting requests for keys to the Dragonica Online closed beta. Keep an eye out for more beta keys and codes for in-game MMO items on GamesRadar. Thank you very much for all your entries and your patience.

Swords, sorcery, and ridiculously cute avatars hacking enemies to bits in their never ending quest for more XP and better gear. Dragonica Online seems to have all the basic elements that decent free-to-play MMOs need. There’s solo questing, group questing, PvP, and four basic classes to choose from. And from what we’ve seen so far, it looks pretty solid with hand-drawn art and side-scrolling, combo-centric combat that tempers the grind of adventuring.

Right now, the game’s still in its closed beta. Luckily, we managed to snag a few beta keys to give away. Want to check Dragonica Online out? Just read our contest rules and follow these steps.

Step 1: Join RadarNation. It’ll take you about one minute, and we only ask for an email address and your birth date. Already a member? Fantastic. Scroll down a few pixels to read step two.

Step 2: Send a PM to GamesRadarTylerNagata and include your email address in the body of the message. We’ll get back to you with a code that will let you access the closed beta. We’ll be distributing codes on a first-come, first-served basis. So be sure to enter right away if you want one.

Above: A cinematic trailer for Dragonica. But you could be playing it now if you enter quickly

This contest is now closed. Everyone who entered was able to receive a code. We barely had enough! Thank you everyone for all your entries. Please keep an eye out for more beta keys and in-game MMO items on GamesRadar.

@ sts7000: Yes, I regret that we weren't able to start giving these codes away earlier. But I'm hoping that some of you will get to enjoy the closed beta for a few days at least. ANNOUNCEMENT: That being said, everyone who has entered should have received a closed beta key by now. Check your email address and thank you for your patience. We still have a few more codes left, so go ahead and send me a PM with your email address if you're interested.

If I sent my email yesterday, is there a good chance I'll get one monday?
  • GamesRadarTylerNagata - July 11, 2009 11:34 p.m.

@sts7000: Go ahead and send me a PM now with your email address. I'll resume distributing out codes on Monday. I'm sending them out to folks in the order that they were received, so sending me a PM now will improve your chances. That being said, it does look like we'll have enough codes to give to everyone who wanted one.... no promises though. Thanks!

Uwaaaah, I have to wait until Monday? Dx I've been asking for activation keys for a few days now, and I was told it would take 3 days from, but mine still hasn't arrived. D':

Hrm, was I too late? Only time can tell. Its a quirky looking little game. The Eastern influences are very visible.
  • GamesRadarTylerNagata - July 10, 2009 11:27 p.m.

Thank you again for all the entries everyone. Everyone who entered so far should have received their beta key code at the email address they sent me. We will resume distributing codes on Monday morning.

Aw shucks.. Not even a day has passed and GR is all out of Beta keys. Oh well, it shouldn't be that much longer before open beta.
  • GamesRadarTylerNagata - July 10, 2009 12:29 a.m.

They didn't pay us anything. It's a closed beta for a decent-looking F2P game. If you're not interest don't enter.
