Fallout: New Vegas to finally receive 'comprehensive' patch

The long awaited 'comprehensive' patch for Fallout: New Vegas is finally seeing the light of day. Bethesda has released a flurry of tweets, Facebook updates, and forum postings, all of which confirm: “We wrapped up work on the Fallout: New Vegas patch and submitted it. We’ll let you know when it’s up on PS3, 360, and Steam."

This newest patch is Bethesda's second attempt at fixing Fallout: New Vegas' game-crashing bugs and annoying glitches. Though details of the update are unclear, Bethesda's earlier forum posts revealed that Xbox 360 save problems and “a number of other reported issues” will be accounted for. If successful, it should clean up the Mohave Wastelands quite nicely for the arrival of Xbox 360's 'exclusive' DLC content on December 21st.

Fallout: New Vegas is far from broken, but it's also a few fast travels away from perfect. Normally, this is where we'd rail against the idea of fixing buggy games after the fact rather than releasing them complete, but at this point we just want a fix.

New Vegas crashed at least twenty times on my Xbox 360 version. I love the game, but that's really unacceptable.

Saying its far from broken is not really fair, there are over 125 known bugs in NV. It is SOOOOO broken!!

"fallout new vegas is a glitch with a game somewhere in it." As much as I do love F:NV, this post sums it up entirely.

Super news. I avoided the save corrupt bugs so far. Hope the patch will be out when I'm finished with brotherhood.

Awesome news! Now if only Bethseda could have done that a couple of months ago.

I played for 14 hours and my first save game randomly became corrupted due to the save game bug. After completely starting from scratch, it happened again after 4 hours of playing time. I haven't run into this problem since then, but I'm hoping this kills it for good, if not, a lot of people are going to be pissed.

Jesus, finally... I bought it day one and haven't played it since the first couple days. I can finally get back into it.

The Mohave Wasteland, or the Mojave Wasteland?

While there are plenty of annoying glitches (one of my favorite is scorpions moving towards you while stuck vertically in the ground) I can't help but think that it doesn't really make much sense to bitch about having a ton of them when you're running so many mods. That's like taking a bath and then complaining that you're wet. Each mod you have is going to decrease the stability of the game.

About time, so many glitches, especially when you have over 30 mods :p
