Man this brings back memories... pretty excited for this one. If only they'd remake/make a new Donkey Kong 64. :'(

Or at least release it on the Virtual Console. Damnit, when will I get to play that game!?

I'm slightly confused, is the new easy mode optional? or is that how the game will be by default? I honestly wouldn't like it if they didn't let me play it as it was originally intended. Aside from that, I'm pretty excited since I didn't play the Wii version! 8 now worlds sounds like even extra bang for my buck, (and also the kind of extras a proper old school nintendo game would have had from the get go...) The graphics do seem to have taken a hit, but I suppose it was inevitable, and it still looks pretty good, and it should look even better on the smaller screen!

In the Nintendo Direct they introduced the easy mode as "New Mode". They're also keeping the "Original Mode", so you can play with the old settings if you wish. You pick which mode you want to play at the start, just like you would with any other difficulty setting, although naturally you can't change it later in this game as I guess it effects the item availability and such.

Ah, awesome, good to hear! And well, no matter if difficulty level can't be changed, I make it a point to never do that XD

Remember that graphics always look worse when blown up like this from the 3DS games and they always look better on the original resolution. Also It seems like the New Mode is optional to my understanding, it confuses me though, the original DKC wasn't all that difficult and I didn't play DKC:R but I would have thought it was even easier. Yet GR keeps making it seem like the hardest thing since sliced bread, anyone who played it on the Wii, was it that difficult?

I'd imagine that part of the reason that was considered hard was because it forced you to use waggle controls, and as well all know, waggle is kinda very terrible for anything involving precision. That, and no offense, but the majority of the new GR crew are kinda lightweights when it comes to challenging stuff... And even the old crew, I remember them complaining that MM9 and 10 were super hard- and they really weren't, they just got softer with age I guess XD

Well to be fair I viewed MM9 to be incredibly difficult, but I've never been good at MM games. The waggle probably was the main problem with DKC:R, hopefully the 3DS controls make things easier. You are right though, they do seem to over exaggerate difficulty though.

Looks good, I passed on the original Wii version because I heard the difficulty was aggravated by the controls or some such. Well, that's not the only reason I passed on it, but I think it's probably better suited to the 3DS than it was on the Wii (and the extra additions seem nice). Still, when the camera zoomed out it did look as though it might be a little hard to keep tabs on where DK is on the 3DS's smaller screen.
