Fans of Max Payne 1
& 2 (and who isn’t?) can show their Payne pride with Xbox Avatar items inspired by the classic series of noir shooters.
There are a couple different outfits for Max and his girlfriend Mona,
a classic mobster track suit, and some threads worthy of a Russian Mob boss. There’s also a delightful Captain Baseball
Bat Boy costume, based on an in-game cartoon character from
the series.
Rockstar no doubt has the May 15 release date of Max Payne 3 in mind with these promotions. It’s been nearly nine years since Max Payne 2, so any attempt to stir nostalgia and awaken people’s latent memories of Max is probably a good move on their part.
If you’re one of the unfortunates who
hasn’t played a Payne game, then forget fancy avatar swag, you need
to play the original games! The Xbox Live Marketplace has both Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne for 1200
points each. Sorry PSN fans, you’re out in the cold on this one for
now. While there’s nothing new for you now, Rockstar has said more
downloadable items are on the way, for both PSN and Xbox Live.
