The original black model definitely isn't Japan-only, I still have mine, sitting on my shelf right now.

Nice Brett-lite article. Would have been full Brett if you'd covered every special edition version of coloring instead of just the major campaigns.

    That last image is hilarious.

Ninty really got a a lot of mileage out the Game Boy with only a few tune ups and an overhaul in '98. Still, why didn't they do something about the lack of back light before they made the Advance and that problem carried over to it? Even the Game Boy Light's indiglo messing with the colors would have been acceptable in those rare dark car rides.

I think that thanks to the lack of backlight, it was the only portable console that was usable even under bright sunlight. I did some highscores playing Tetris while on the beach! Good old grey brick...

When I was younger, my parents wouldn't let me get a Game Boy, or even a GBC. Even when the price dropped to an absurd price, and I saved up my own money, they wouldn't allow it. So I spent the money on other video games. Take that, fiscal responsibility!

Does the Game Boy Advance not count as a redesign? I'm guessing you're counting it as a completely separate system. If so, will they're be a Game Boy advance redesign list anytime soon? I already know of every redesign the GBA has gone through, but still these are fun to read.

The GBA is an entirely different system from the GB. It's to the GB what the SNES is to the NES.

Classic was handed down from my bother, then got the ice blue Gameboy pocket, then the green (high five shawk!) and later on purple clear Color, and the transfer pak for Pokémon. Never had a super Gameboy, but at least got the one for the gba on the cube.

    Sorry, the printer was grey.
  • LordZarlon - April 22, 2014 4:39 p.m.

I have the Original Grey, Pocket, Super, and Color Game Boys. I actually bought the Game Boy Camera and Printer for my Game Boy Pocket. The Pocket was red so I bought matching colors for the Camera and Printer. Good times.

Ah me and my light green GBC, good times. I probably still have it somewhere...

Still have my Game Boy Color and all of its sweet Grapeness.
