I can just foresee a swarm of nintendo fanboys coming to attack your choice of littlebigplanet karting. I'd add to the list Vanquish improved over gears of war.

not to mention PlayStation All Stars
  • FunkyPickle - November 6, 2012 4:03 p.m.

Brawl, maybe, but Melee is better.

For Taokaka, Mario Kart 4 eva!!!! For mbavalo, All Stars is decent but has nothing on Smash Bros. The KO system just doesn't seem to work well. For FunkyPickle, I disagree. Melee is just simply not better. It has less content and more cloning of characters, Brawl is more polished. Although a lot of people prefer Melee, I just don't see a good reason for it?

    oh man, vanquish...what a gem.
  • avantguardian - November 7, 2012 2:38 a.m.

i'm playing that game right now. very derivative, but the combat and color is making up for it so far.

i think it depends on your gaming generation. for those of us that have had played and beaten tomb raider 2, it's hard to compare. alas, i'm sure most people who play games today haven't had the experience. as far as boobs are concerned, well, i'm not gonna go there.

For Hobogonigal, stop talking out your arse. I know you haven't played either LBP karting or play station all stars battle royale so your opinion on the quality has no weight, especially since you're a nintendo fanboy.

i really loved how capcom managed to take what i enjoyed most about monster hunter and put it into dragon's dogma. MH's greatest flaw has been its focus on mp, so a single-player rpg where you can find a lot of the same satisfaction really did it for me. not to mention the excellent and rather ingenious pawn system, which i hope is "borrowed" by other games. would be my GOTY if not for xcom.

You could not be more wrong, and neither could this article. Playing both properly (yes, properly, and well, as most league fans have never properly played dota), dota is infinitely better for any even remotely skilled gamer. Want an easy game spent getting 14:0 without any effort? Go to League. Want to have to work as an actual team with incredible levels of tactics to take down enemy team synergies? Dota. Everything about it is better, from the snowballing to the challenge, and while it's nice to have a break from the more hard-paced game and take an easy league game now and again, a win on league is nothing compared to the feeling of achievement dota can give you. /argument

Agreed, I'd love for a sequel to be made.
  • mbavalo - November 7, 2012 2:36 p.m.

Dude, relax! I own a PS3 and no freagen Nintendo. I was just backing up your statement about Nintendo fanboys complaining due to Battle Royale being so similar to Smash Bros.. funny how you forget people who have backed you up on some arguments on this site

What? I didn't even mention all stars to begin with because it isn't even out yet hence it isn't on the list, it's just hinted at in the end. Yet despite not being on the list or even out yet Hobogonigal seems to have magically developed his own opinion on how it plays, I just think people should give things a chance before they bash (it's fair game if they're bashing the wonderbook though)
  • mbavalo - November 7, 2012 4:12 p.m.

Oh, my bad :D I thought "Hobogonigal' was a new word of describing madness on something.. no offense Hobogonigal :D We're good then
  • taokaka - November 7, 2012 4:32 p.m.

LOL, knowing that your last comment makes a lot more sense now and mine just seems like a hilarious spite filled rant.

How dare you sir, attack my credibility as a sanctimonious, well-balanced gentleman. If you cannot take a little, wisecrack of a joke then please continue to tickle an ostrich. I was simply using the language device of irony to subject your comment regarding Nintendo fanboys to a hyperbolic scenario situation. As for Playstation All Stars, I have not played it but these people certainly have. Maybe you should listen to their comments regarding the super attack knockout feature: (the comment box won't let me put a link to GamesRadar's preview of All Stars. Apparently providing a link to Gamesradar is classed as spam...) As I said All Stars is decent but the imbalanced knockout system seems to not to be the best approach from all previews I have read. I am sure it still will be fun though. As for mbavalo, its cool. It is actually a cross between a hobo and the character of mgonigal from two Simpsons episodes.

Before I recently played the public beta my opinion on the game hadn't been that great due to mixed previews but after playing the beta it certainly seems fun and I even prefer various aspects of it over Smash brothers like the controls and the movement physics. It isn't perfect, the roster is missing plenty of big playstation icons, defensive players are are going to struggle and the graphics aren't at all impressive but it's still fun, and like SSB and all fighters most of the fun will just come from playing with friends. As for how fun the KO system is I'm still not entirely sure because I only got two games in before the servers just stopped working but my opinion so far isn't that they are worse than a traditional health bar or SSB's ringout-amajig just different and it may take some players getting used to the mechanic.

I've asked myself the same thing as to why no other game borrows the active reload. I guess with so many games using cover systems, and Unreal 3, they didn't want to take too much from GOW.

So you think that people who find League challenging are stupid? Are you saying that 32 million gamers who play league at least once a month aren't even remotely skilled? Have you only played against bots? Did you even make it to level 30, the level where most of the decent players reside? I'm convinced you haven't played League of Legends "properly". It's not like a match-made enemy team is going to just lay down and let you win. League may be simpler but it still requires strategics and teamwork.

i'd like to add every cod after 4 to this list. zero innovation in half a decade and still the number one selling game franchise ever
  • gilgamesh310 - November 11, 2012 6:11 a.m.

I'm getting fairly tired of people actually believing Uncharted is better than Tomb Raider. In terms of gameplay the old Tomb Raider games blow Uncharted out of the water. Uncharted may have better stories and characters but so what? Gameplay comes first.

help! I was browsing around the net and came across this site. http://itisgamelol.wordpress.com/ Got me wondering if Ezrael or Lee Sin are pretty much easy to master since they are so popular? Also, which champions do you keep seeing when you play? I've seen so many Garens that it isn't funny anymore. T_T
