It's 2021, and that means gaming on the go is easier than ever. Want to play the hottest games like Cyberpunk 2077 but aren't near your gaming PC? No worries, NVIDIA's GeForce NOW cloud-based gaming service has you sorted.

GeForce NOW delivers real-time gameplay directly to your favorite portable devices, whether it's your Mac, Chromebook, or more. Yes, that means you don't need to lug your hefty gaming laptop around when you travel - but you can still enjoy games that look as good as if you were playing them on your desktop GPU. And since your progress saves on the Cloud, you can put your device down whenever you need to pour a cup of tea and pick up right back where you left off in Cyberpunk 2077's Night City.

GeForce NOW offers a free base membership that offers standard access to the games without all the visual bells and whistles. There are two membership options - free and the Founder's Membership - and here's what you get with both.

GeForce NOW free membership

  • Standard access to games without ray-tracing or DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling)
  • One hour gaming sessions before you need to queue again

GeForce NOW Founder's Membership (£4.99)

  • Priority access to extended game sessions before needing to queue
  • RTX ON for compatible games (ray-tracing and DLSS)

With RTX ON you'll enjoy compatible games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla at their most realistic and engaging thanks to ray-tracing and DLSS. Ray-tracing is by far the biggest advancement in video game graphics in quite some time - it offers immensely realistic lighting and shadows, better image quality, and deeper immersion in video game worlds. DLSS is a technology specific to RTX ON which uses AI power to increase your frame rates in games that have super intensive graphical workloads - that means you can enjoy detailed settings without sacrificing your framerates.

When it comes to a vibrant and futuristic world like the one of Cyberpunk 2077, ray-tracing makes a huge difference. See for yourselves with these Cyberpunk 2077 screenshots.

You can see ray-traced diffuse illumination in this image, which captures sky radiance and realistically lights Night City with the light from the sun and the moon. Ray-traced diffuse illumination, when enabled, will also show in illuminated objects like billboards and neon signs - these objects will brighten their surroundings, like a neon sign sending colour across the wall on which it's hanging.

There's also ray-traced reflections which are applied on every surface in the game and can trace ranges for up to several miles, offering up hyper-realistic reflections across massive distances. Look at how light reflects across the slick surface of  rain-soaked concrete in the above picture.

There's also ray-traced shadows, which allows the CD Projekt Red developers to create directional shadows from the sun or the moon that differ based on the strength of the light, or whether there's cloud cover.

Normally, you'd need a compatible (and pricey) setup including a NVIDIA GeForce GPU on a PC or gaming laptop to get visuals like these. But, with a GeForce NOW Founder's membership you can get a high-quality gaming experience on most popular devices that can fit in your backpack. Yes, your PC gaming library can come along with you, wherever you go. And if your hardware is in need of an update, you can hold off on spending big bucks on a new desktop setup - you'll be able to enjoy the power of high-end gaming on more portable devices. So you can have your fill of AAA games without sitting at your PC.

Here's which devices you can play games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla on with GeForce NOW:

  • Mac OS
  • Windows PC
  • NVIDIA Shield
  • Chromebook

With NVIDA GeForce Now, playing today's hottest games on portable devices without comprising graphic quality is easy. So don't worry, you can step away from that PC - Night City awaits.
