Minecraft Windows 10 Beta has built in recording and controller support

Along with the reveal of Telltale's episodic Minecraft game Mojang has also taken Minecon as an opportunity to reveal a new Windows 10 specific version of Minecraft. Downloadable from the Windows Store when the new OS launches on July 29th, the new edition of the game will have built in gameDVR for easier recorduing and for the first time, the game will also have native controller support.

Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta will be free to the existing 20 million gamers who already play on PC and be a befitting $10 during the beta period for non owners. Mojang's announcement blog says that the length of the beta period is currently unknown but will let the community "shape the future of Minecraft with our built player feedback mechanisms."

It's been a big year for the blocky survival game. Over 70 million copies have been sold across all platforms and given that there's a Hololens specific version of Minecraft, Microsoft clearly has big plans for its new purchase. This is only the beginning.
