Fede Alvarez takes the helm for the remake, Evil Dead , with Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell as producers. Alvarez is a Uruguayan filmmaker who came to international attention with his short film Ataque de Pánico! (translated: “Panic Attack! – see above) which became a YouTube hit in 2009. He was wuickly snapped up by Ghost House Pictures to helm a sci-fi project but was instead chosen for the prestigious role of recreating The Evil Dead in terrifying new style.

Evil Dead , the new terrifying new version of the horror classic, hits UK cinemas on 19 April. It stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas and is directed by Fede Alvarez.
