Teaser site may hint at ex-Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi's next project

We may not have to wait much longer to find out what Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi's been up to since he left Konami in March 2014. Of course, it can't be simple - just take a look at swordorwhip.com and judge for yourself.

That dapper fellow swirling the wine glass bears a strong resemblance to Igarashi himself, or at least a cartoon vampire version of him. He asks visitors to repeatedly choose between the sword and the whip, the latter being the preferred implement of undead destruction for the Belmont clan. Then again, Alucard put his many swords to great use in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

He also shares a few thinly veiled references, saying "What do you do when you find yourself without a castle? You build another," and that two dimensions cannot hold him.

The site lets users spread the news on social media with the #igavania hashtag, further tying whatever this is back to the former Castlevania steward. Those demonic runes behind his throne are also a seemingly pixel-perfect match to those shown on a mysterious flyer distributed at PAX Prime 2014.

When Igarashi announced his departure from Konami, he said he was looking for the "freedom to make the kind of games I really want to make - the same kind I think fans of my past games want as well." Of course, no matter how nicely this it together, this is all still circumstantial until we hear something more specific from the man himself.
