It looks like PSP still has a long wait in store when it comes to seeing Gran Turismo grace its lovely screen.
Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has explained that, while he's very much working on Gran Turismo Portable, it won't be out till after Gran Turismo 5 releases.
Speaking to Spanish website Meristation, Yamauchi said that GT 5 is currently penciled in for Christmas 2008, but that it won't be released until everything is perfect.
A PSP version of Gran Turismo 4 was supposed to be around for the handheld's launch in 2005.
In the interview he also reveals that Gran Turismo 5's online component is something that will be worked on for around a year following the game's release. Whether this refers to fine-tuning and/or post-release download content isn't clear.
