Breathe new life into dying ecosystems in cozy eco-management game BioEden
Cozy management game BioEden just got its world premiere reveal during the Future Game Show Summer Showcase.
Sent to a distant, dying planet by your guild, it's your job in BioEden to help revitalize your new world and restore the populations of once-extinct local fauna. To do that, you'll have to explore the world, finding resources that will let you build the structures you need to progress your terraforming project.
Meshing together power and water systems on BioEden's grid-based interpretation of its world, eventually you'll be able to turn this barren outcrop of grey and brown into a thriving, colorful world filled with adorable animals who live within the dome at the center of your operation. But you'll have to be careful - every structure you build has its own impact on the environment, and if you build too freely, you'll end up polluting the very planet you're supposed to be saving.
You won't be able to simply rely on building, either. Alongside BioEden's planet-scale management is an ecological system based on reigniting the planet's biosphere. You'll need to bring different species together in the safety of your dome, carefully balancing their different needs before you can release them back into the wild.
BioEden will eventually make its way to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, but the console release date hasn't been confirmed yet. If you're on PC, however, it's set to launch on September 3 on Steam, where a demo is available to play now.

I'm GamesRadar's Managing Editor for news, shaping the news strategy across the team. I started my journalistic career while getting my degree in English Literature at the University of Warwick, where I also worked as Games Editor on the student newspaper, The Boar. Since then, I've run the news sections at PCGamesN and Kotaku UK, and also regularly contributed to PC Gamer. As you might be able to tell, PC is my platform of choice, so you can regularly find me playing League of Legends or Steam's latest indie hit.
