Jennifer English – the actor behind Baldur's Gate 3's Shadowheart and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's Maelle – says Hades is a comfort game, but would need an easy mode to get into Silksong.
Speaking to Radio Times Gaming, English was asked about her history with video games, and whether it's something she was always into before acting in them. English recalled "I played games as a kid [and I] was kind of banned from the PlayStation cause I would play Soul Blade and get really violent afterwards with my poor sibling." She also shouts out the likes of Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and The Sims, with which she "would hyperfocus for hours on end" and says she won't dare to "play it again, because I know what would happen." However, after that she "just didn't really play" until she "got into games again playing my own game."
Playing the duo of award-winning RPGs she featured in – Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – acted as a "gateway drug" for English, who says "now I'm playing all sorts and loving it" saying now she's "trying different things" even if not everything hits for her.

She then singles out 2025's other major title Hollow Knight: Silksong, saying "looking at you" before saying she's "too bad at it"
English says it's "been such a joy to get into them again and I'm really grateful for Baldur's Gate 3 for that." However, after Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, English is best known for her role in Elden Ring, a game that is similarly really hard in the vein of Hollow Knight, so maybe the call is coming from inside the house…
