Broken Sword 5 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One

There just aren't enough charming point and click adventures on PS4 and Xbox One. Well to solve this problem, mega-Kickstarter success Broken Sword 5 - The Serpent's Curse will be released on those very consoles this summer.

An updated version of the original mobile and handheld title, Broken Sword 5 will have additional character animation and audio as well as a character gallery and 'console enhancements.' Surprisingly, it won't just be a digital title either with a real live retail edition including the first part of the game in the form of an actual physical graphic novel. How quaint.

While Broken Sword 5 featured on PlayStation Vita after it's mega Kickstarter, George and Nico haven't been on PlayStation or Xbox since all the way back in 2003 with The Sleeping Dragon. Let's try not to think about what we were doing at that time in our lives and focus on this being good news.

"The Broken Sword games have a proud history on previous PlayStation and Xbox consoles," says the founder and CEO of devs Revolution Software. "There is such a loyal following for the Broken Sword games, as demonstrated by the 15,000 fans who backed the original Kickstarter campaign – it’s fantastic to now be able to bring the game to all those console owners who have requested that we write the game for their favourite platform.”
