PS4 Destiny players struggling with corrupt patch update, Bungie offers fix

Destiny's 2.0.1 patch went live today, bringing with it shotgun nerfs and new emotes purchased via microtransactions. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to experience a world of Guardians making their best "come at me bro" poses and dancing like Carlton from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Some users, particularly those on PS4, are reporting issues with the update.

If you're seeing a download of 18 GB (as opposed to the 500 MB update that today's patch should be), you might be dealing with a corrupted patch. Bungie customer support suggests that if you receive a message stating that the data is corrupted, you can try cancelling the download, clearing your console's cache, and restarting the process. If you don't get an error message, Bungie also says that it is "expected behavior" for a PS4 to say that the download is 18GB, when it is in fact only downloading the roughly 500 MB update.

If you've run afoul of this issue and have other solutions, please let your fellow Guardians know in the comments!
