Oscar Isaac goes from X-wing pilot to stalker in Mojave trailer

Later this month we'll finally be able to see Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the rising actor has also nabbed himself a role as the titular big bad in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse. Before all that though comes Mojave; written and directed by Departed scribe William Monahan, we now have a first trailer for the cerebral thriller. Watch it below...

As the trailer illustrates, Mojave will see Isaac's "chameleon-like drifter" Jack stalk unhinged loner Thomas (Garrett Hedlund, who starred in Pan earlier this year) through the desert and then back to his home in LA. The film also lists Mark Wahlberg as part of its cast but there's no sign of him here. Wonder what he's up to...

After Inside Llewyn Davis this will be the second film which sees Hedlund and Isaac team up, and while the trailer - along with the film's setup - isn't all that unique or special, the performances already look strong. Hello award season!

Directed by William Monahan and starring Isaac, Hedlund, Wahlberg, Walton Goggins and Dania Ramirez, Mojave is now available on VOD and will be released in US cinemas on January 6 2016.
