Wii U supports two gamepads after all

Yesterday, a story broke citing a Ubisoft manager who said that the WiiU would only support one tablet gamepad at a time, in addition to four remotes, for a total of five players. Some players were very disappointed by that though, wishing for more multiplayer tablet gaming.

Today, Reggie Fils-Aime took the stage at Nintendo's E3 press conference, and used the opportunity to reassure fans that two gamepads can be used at once. So while asymmetric gaming is still something they're focusing on. It wont be all the WiiU can handle.

So now we're left wondering what the player cap is. Is it two gamepads plus four remotes? Or does it max out at five players as in Rayman Legends?

You know, Nintendo might actually get better 3rd party support if they'd actually keep developers informed of hardware changes. Seems like Nintendo always drops the ball on communication, leaving developers to rush adding support for new technology (ex. Wii Motion Plus).
