    3. and 4. are backwards.

I like to think that the sports games are the reason that Bowser starts problems to begin with, like, he won last place, so he goes and kidnap peach because of it :P Seriously though, in Bowsers inside story, Bowser says that HE IS PART OF THIS KINGDOM TOO, and thus should be an addition to all festitivities, despite what he does, it's weird how the system works but I guess Bowser has rights for all festivities and to invade if he wants to, it's wierd but Peach and Mario don't care afterwards, especially in the galaxy games despite what Bowser wants to do. Oh god, MB3 is a stage show and not actually history, well that's not stopping it from being the best stage show ever :P

Holy crap Coop, this is a fantastic article!
  • Sjoeki - August 13, 2012 11:59 a.m.

You can't tell me that there isn't more going on between peach and bowser, how many times was he able to "kidnap" her? And didn't that koopa kid (bowser jr.) call her momma?
  • shawksta - August 13, 2012 12:24 p.m.

That's the plot of Sunshine, Bowser lies to his son about Peach being his momma
  • Sjoeki - August 13, 2012 1:43 p.m.

Ah okay, that answers that question, but still seeing how many time's she gets kidnapped... somebody needs to get some security upgrades or just move her stuff to his castle.
  • KidKatana - August 14, 2012 2:36 a.m.

Well, she actually when the kid calls her his mum, she seems surprised but doesn't actually deny it...
  • Godzillarex - August 13, 2012 12:37 p.m.

Funny! But "Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy" is from Yoshi's Island, not Yoshi's Story.
  • profile0000 - August 13, 2012 12:56 p.m.

Great article Coop! When you put it that way, the Mushroom Kingdom is really messed up. Thanks for ruining some of my childhood. However, as for SMB 3 being a play, who's to say it isn't a play based on an actual event that happened in the Mushroom Kingdom? We may never know...
  • gamesradarclint - August 13, 2012 1:37 p.m.

Good read Coop! But just because Mario 3 is a play doesn't mean the events of Mari 3 never occurred! They could have just been too bloody for us to take.

Great article. I hope it's not against rules to do this, but I wrote this fun thing on my 6 year old son asking those big questions about Mario, I wanted to share with you. Sorry if there's illegality in posting a link; I just felt that the humor of both pieces kinda mesh together. :)

So will there ever be game to tell the origins of the whole thing? with Zelda we had SS.
  • LBD_Nytetrayn - August 13, 2012 2:42 p.m.

...Yoshi's Island? And Yoshi's Island DS, if you want an explanation of what makes Mario and others "special."
  • cj12297 - August 13, 2012 2:36 p.m.

Of course Bowser is invited to everything. He is the King
  • LBD_Nytetrayn - August 13, 2012 2:58 p.m.

And of course there has to be a drug reference... I might even give a pass on that to "Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy," though I figured that was more akin to licking toads. Does it count as a drug if it's using an animal? As for why it's always Mario? Peach has guards and such; they're Toads. With a few exceptions, Toads don't tend to be good for a whole lot. But Mario? He gets things DONE, son. And no powers? Can YOU swing a giant demon-turtle-dragon-king around by the tail? Plus, he has lots of powers all around him; all he has to do is reach out and grab one. (I do like the article, but just sayin'... =) ) (As an aside... why is my captcha for this post in Hebrew characters?)
  • Z-man427 - August 13, 2012 6:12 p.m.

Wait, What if Peach's dad never returned because he was turned into Koopa? He just wants his daughter back and Mario keeps ruining it for the poor guy.
  • forestfire55 - August 14, 2012 3:29 a.m.

You forgot where peach had bowsers child... that was wierd. Super mario sunshine i think, it was on the wii.
  • DirkSteele1 - August 14, 2012 5:41 a.m.

I thought that was implied in Super Mario Galaxy (still the best game I have played this generation)? I remember at the time of that revelation thinking it was a bit disturbing.
  • into the sound - August 14, 2012 7:38 a.m.

Actually I think at the end of SM: Sunshine Bowser has what could be construed as a "heart-to-heart" with Bowser Jr., letting him know that Peach isn't really his mom. I breathed a sigh of relief. I'd much rather believe that Bowser just lied to his kid to get him to kidnap the princess for him.
