The first Jason Bourne 5 trailer sees Matt Damon back in action

After delighting fans with a brief teaser served up during the Super Bowl, Universal has dropped the full trailer for Jason Bourne. Yes, folks - your favorite amnesiac spy is back for a fifth helping of punch-ups and car chases.

Following a nine-year break from the fast-paced world of global espionage, Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass return to the series. And by the looks of this jam-packed footage, they're on track to deliver what could be the most blistering Bourne yet. Check out the trailer below:

This is how you do it. Front and center is Damon's brooding operative, who after nearly a decade away from our screens, has never looked more confident. Whether he's pummelling goons or pulling Evil Knievel stunts behind the wheel, there's no other action hero quite like him. The trailer's light on story beats, but really, does that matter when our appetites are already thoroughly whetted? If Greengrass planned to make us forget The Bourne Legacy, then by this trailer alone you can consider it done. Sorry, Hawkeye.

Directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles, Vincent Cassel, Tommy Lee Jones, and Riz Ahmed, Jason Bourne is released in UK cinemas on July 27, 2016 before opening in US theatres a day later on July 29, 2016.
