Sonic Generations trailer dares you to remember recent Sonic games

When we first heard of Sonic Generations, we figured Sega would use it to celebrate Sonic’s two decades of existence while glossing over the less memorable bits of his history. But after last week’s Dreamcast Era trailer featuring a cameo by Shadow the Hedgehog, it looks like Sega is embracing all of Sonic’s life. Further proof is today’s video which focuses on Sonic’s “Modern Era,” meaning Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, and the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)…

We have to give Sega and Sonic team credit for even recognizing these games exist after the way they’ve been treated by many Sonic fans and the press. But can they spin crap into gold by remaking stages from those three games in 2D and 3D? And will Generations even recognize the fan hate for Sonic's interspecies kiss? With just weeks till the game’s launch, we’ll know soon.

And actually, I think in this case I think it's not supposed to be the stages being in HD and the Modern gameplay that's impressive. It's the opposite of the Classic Trailer. Modern Stages in Classic Sonic style and gameplay is impression. haha

Wouldn't 06, Unleashed and Colors, in that same order, technically be considered "Bad, Half-n-Half and Good" Sonic games? Coparing Unleashed to 06, Unleashed isn't really a bad game. (Actually, compared to Sonic Heroes too. lol).

I don't think I can handle another disappointment. Please don't ruin my Autumn, Sega.

No lie I really liked Sonic DX Director's Cut, but I think that having like 8 sonic games in less than 5 years is too much.

Hey, I'm all for forgiveness when it comes to Sonic. I'm still playing the games, after all. I would definitely like to see Crisis City done with proper controls. That said, this is easily the least impressive trailer, because, well, we've seen two of these games in HD, and Colors looked so good it might as well have been in HD.

Sonic Colors was a fantastic game, not amazing but defintely 8/10 in my eyes. I loved Sonic 2006 as well, but before you flag me as an idiot, let me explain. I loved the game for it's undelivered potential, I was in love with some segments until I realized how poorly executed they were. Don't get me started on the story either, but I feel like deep down, that game had some great levels and ideas that they just couldn't see to fruition. I'll be picking up this game as soon as I possibly can, here's hoping that it doesn't disappoint.

Well, Colors wasn't all that bad. As for the Final Form Chaos at the end, I can't wait to see what they do with that.

I would like to say about the bioshock game that there is a port similar to the 16bit one imagined. On the verizon network there is a "bioshock 3d" game made for lower generation mobile phones.

Sonic '06 and Unleashed may be terrible (Unleashed would have been fine without the Werehog sections though) but it's nice to see they're getting a second chance at redemption. The stages look like fun.
