LittleBigPlanet may be the best game Nintendo never got around to making. There’s the fuzzy little mascot, colorful worlds, a charming story and an unending barrage of innovation. It’s Nintendo to the core; except the core is made by Media Molecule and it’s on a Sony console. ...
LittleBigPlanet - hands-on
The more you put in, the more it gives back!
Apr 7, 2008
There’s a very good chance that LittleBigPlanet is going to face a make-or-break situation when the game is finally released. The developers at Media Molecule readily admit that the game is essentially half finished and, potentially, never will be. You see, LittleBigPlanet is massively reliant on the community aspects of the game and even more so on the talented gamers who the developers hope will create levels to play and ...   » Read Full LittleBigPlanet preview
LittleBigPlanet
This planet is definitely big enough for the four of us
Jan 23, 2008
So, is it possible you havent heard of LittleBigPlanet? Unlikely, especially if you own a PS3, considering its one of the most anticipated PS3-exclusive titles on the way. In short, its a series of funky-coloured, physics-rich platforming stages where youll need to manipulate the game world in order to get to the end. Platforming? Physics-driven? Yeah, we know, those two things are rarely a formula for gaming joy. But, LBP is different. Very different. The screens and movies should ram that ...   » Read Full LittleBigPlanet preview
LittleBigPlanet - hands-on
The PS3's most creative game blows us away with a fully functioning demo
Jul 19, 2007
Like most people jonesing for a good reason to own a PS3, we're impressed as hell by the promise of LittleBigPlanet. The achingly cute platformer/level-creation tool snagged our imaginations when it was unveiled during the Game Developers Conference in March, and during E3 it was almost fully playable. Enough to give us a good feel for what it'll be like to build your own semi-3D worlds and then jump around in them, anyway. Even without its simple-but-deep creation tools, LittleBigPlanet would ...   » Read Full LittleBigPlanet preview

LittleBigPlanet makes us feel all warm inside
Jul 18, 2007
Wednesday 18 July 2007 So here we are, drinking weak lager and being fed chocolate cookies by a very persistent waitress at Sony Europe's low-key cocktail reception in Los Angeles. David Reeves, Sony's President has just told the assembled press and hangers-on that, unlike the US, he won't be pulling a fast one and pretending to cut the price of the Euro PS3. Kaz Hirai (who was on the table behind us) has exited out the side door, sharpish. No-one knows where to go next. We're in Venice Beach, ...   » Read Full LittleBigPlanet preview

Mar 7, 2007
For months - years, even - Sony has been pushing the PS3 as a revolutionary new platform that would change everything we thought we knew about games. We didn't believe the hype, of course, but now we've seen something that's got us thinking Sony might not have been blowing smoke up our asses after ...   » Read Full LittleBigPlanet preview
