This make me cry. I have the first game and I actually love even though I don't play it often.

What the hall! Whats going on in japan? is this the 1990's where we didn't get the bulk of Japanese games because the company didn't want to localize it. This is just insane, hand the bloody game off to a third party publisher to localize and take a smaller cut of the profit. Have the decency to release your game world wide and next time make the game for PS3 or 360!

Another JRPG that doesn't get a full world-wide release. What's happening here?
  • degozaru55 - October 12, 2011 7:54 a.m.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I even pre-ordered VC2. I guess my question is if VC 1 and 2 got such universal praise were is the hardcore fan base that always buys games like this that support its release. Also if they are not going to officially release it here what about just putting up raw as a download on PSN or hell what about a release on the vita or something.(We all know damn well there will be a VC vita game.)
  • avantguardian - October 12, 2011 5:35 a.m.

did the first game do so badly that they decided putting the sequels on an inferior platform was a deft move? there are so many games that get spin-offs for handhelds, why shoot yourself in the foot by losing most of your installed fanbase due to switching platforms? VC1 was such a beautiful, TACTICAL (turn-based strategy, where's the love these days?), unique game, but i don't actually get the point of portable systems (MORE gaming...scary thought). just not for me, i guess. it's as if sega just takes pleasure in boggling minds.

Thats the only issue I had when I saw the announcement that VC3 would be on the PSP. The PSP is only doing well in Japan, the american and european market have just dies out for it, so im not surprised this has happened. Well, if your going to try and make a quick buck by releasing the game on the PSP, where its quicker and cheaper to make, thats their problem when it doesnt sell. Perhaps if they get round to making a VC4, they may reconsider making it on the PS3

Can't say I'm surprised, but I'm sad nonetheless. This makes me worry about whether or not we'll get Final Fantasy Type-0, too. Dammit, I need to learn Japanese.
  • PretzelBoy - October 11, 2011 9:27 p.m.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Why can't we please get this game!!! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
  • ChiChiRocket - October 11, 2011 9:22 p.m.

I don't own a PSP, so I've already made my peace with not being able to play any of the sequels.
  • SideOfBeef - October 11, 2011 8:34 p.m.

It wasn't enough to put it on a PSP, now they put a damn ocean between me and this game to ensure I will never be able to play it. Way to go guys.
  • Jordanonfire - October 11, 2011 8:11 p.m.

That's what happens when you take an amazing game and put its sequels on a handheld device. Dumb.
  • bigwill1221 - October 11, 2011 7:18 p.m.

Should just go for ps3 imo... also play station vita will fail I say, since think of it as an upgraded psp go...
  • Letter11 - October 11, 2011 7:17 p.m.

I would be ecstatic if they would consider a Vita re-release over here at least. If so it would tip the scale in my 3DS vs. Vita internal monologue.
  • raidramon0 - October 11, 2011 7:12 p.m.

It's rather unsuprising. Neither Valkyria Chronicles nor the PSP were popular amongst the mainstream in North America. With people now holding out for the PS Vita, localizing #3 would indeed be a very bad idea. I don't know about the game series, but this is definitely a sign that the PSP in North America (and maybe Europe) is finished.
  • R-ape - October 11, 2011 6:49 p.m.

News to me. Not the JRPG news, but rather that some people still make games for the PSP. Sorta like that time with that 3rd Mummy movie game for the PS2.
  • griffinkat - October 11, 2011 6:46 p.m.

Hey VC 2 sold badly cuase it was on a system that's arleady being pushed out for a newer system. *smacks some heads* What did you think would happen? It shoulda been ps3 to begin with. I mean I love my psp and all. but come on, if they had done it on ps3 bet it woulda sold way better. And now we're not given the third game cuase YOU SEGA chose poorly not us. ;.; this is sooo wrong. Mean while we get tons of overly done first person shooters thanks alot. x.x
