New Moon rising

Sounds like an expansion on the sort of thing we saw in A Wonderful Life?

Wada: Yes, that's right. But it's a little deeper.

And how exactly are the Wii controls going to work?

Wada: All sorts of actions can be performed using the Wii remote - watering plants, throwing something and so on, but every single action can be done using button controls as well.

Good job - our arms are starting to get tired just from thinking about it!

Wada: Yes, it would be too much like working on a real farm! (Laughs) The game also incorporates minigames which use the Wii controller, so you can look forward to that as well.

Do you think the motion controls make the Wii game the most immersive Moon yet?

Wada: I think the actions are more useful in allowing the player to get more easily acquainted with the controls. The immersion comes from the player having a more emotional experience, thanks to there being more interaction with family and villagers.

Finally, which other games are currently eating into your spare time, as Harvest Moon tends to do with ours?

Wada: (laughs sheepishly) World of Warcraft. And The Sims. I'm looking forward to Will Wright's Spore, too. I like the dynamic feel of these games, the way things are always developing and changing as you play.
