Both Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller nominated for Danny Boyle’s Frankenstein stage play
Both Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller have been nominated for Best Actor in the Evening Standard Theatre Awards for the playing the same roles in Danny Boyle’s stage version of Frankenstein .
The production, which was perfromed at the National Theatre in April this year, featured the two actors alternating the roles of the monster and the creator each night. So it’s a good job both received a nomination, because if only one had, imaging how hurt the other one would have felt. Though, of course, they never do these things for the awards…
The pair are up against Bertie Carvel for Matilda the Musical and Charles Edwards for Much Ado About Nothing … you know, that adaptation of the Joss Whedon film.
