Just as hostages can come to bond with their captors, so you end up liking GLADOS - the female-voiced computer in Portal, the Best Game Ever Made (TM). Guilt for killing her is prolonged because you have to do it a piece at a time. While she talks to you. Don't worry though, it's OK - she forgives you at the end via the medium of song. Er... time to play a different game, we reckon.

What have Goombas ever really done to you? If you stand in front of them and they crash into you, you die, but then that's true of buses and you don't go around stamping on them, do you? These days the small brown critters might charge at you when they see you, but surely that's because they're standing up for their rights after two decades of repression. And if that wasn't enough to get your guilt gland fizzing, look at the score you get for killing them. 100 points. They're the gaming equivalent of the £1.99 whole chicken. Has life really become so discounted?

I like the idea of the post, but it needs more work.

But yeah sniper wolf is missing.

And the bot in portal, yeah, it left a real sour taste in my mouth. I was playing the game while my g/f was around and I kept on talking her why I didn't want to kill the bot, or else I would die... It was a sad moment, moments after I killed her the song came. And well, incredible!

"At some point in Pokemon, you always end up coming home. Whether it's to say hi to your mom or use Surf to get that last TM, sooner or later you'll have to tread that old ground. I know i felt really sad for killing those colossus's they were huge things in a huge world. they werent bothering me at all and i rode for like half an hour across the world to track it down and contemplate how to kill it. the id stab it in its vital spots and it would react. badly. );

Ok well I dont feel sorry for killing Goombas, GLaDos or the spotty bulbos things from pikmin lets be honest the pikmin are cuter and before you came the pikmin never fouhgt back they just sat back and were eaten by those behemoths. So really your just helping them retaliate. Maybe not alot of people know about this game but Leattys from Maple story (online rpg) should be on there your a lvl 63 assassin just trying to get through orbis tower and you keep getting knocked down by them they dont do alot of damage but are being annoying so maybe you kill a few to get through and only after the horrible deed is done do you feel the shamefull guilt of killing a lil' white fluffy ball.But its a different story if your lvl 30 or below becuase those things can and will 1 hit you and then poof there goes 5% of your hard earned exp, but is 5% really worth the life of one leatty (no at lvl 30 its worth the lives of about 400-600) shame on you.If you say how cute can they be? look at this.

I feel bad in gta4 when i can coose if i want to kill somebody. I spend ages deciding! I made the right choice with playboy x though! When you can choose though! Makes me sweat! Shall i get my revenge....? Yer?

The strange is though i dont feel bad killing pedestrians, police or doctors?

i felt bad in Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow when this civilian lady led me to a secret passage to some place i cant remember and lambert told me to kill her as she was walking away. I didnt, so i failed the mission. she was just so innocent! (and pretty dang hot). Also on Chaos Theory i didnt kill the old dude in the room with Dvorak in it, also just so innocent.
