Horror-remake junkie Michael Bay’s is ploughing ahead with a new version of Wes Craven’s A Nightmare On Elm Street, despite the fact his recent efforts have been a bloody mess (The Hitcher).
Variety is reporting that New Line is partnering with Bay's production company to forge a whole new franchise about the claw-gloved killer Freddy Krueger, who stalks'n'slaughters teens in their sleep.
Looks like poor old Robert Englund will be replaced in the lead role of Freddy, so expect a howling outcry across the interwebs. Still, not even a script written yet, so the splatter will have to happen post-strike.
